About the Human Library

What is a Human Library?

A Human Library is an event designed to promote conversations between people of different backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences to break down stereotypes and encourage inclusion. In a Human Library, our "books" are people, eager to share their experiences with people. The Human Library is a worldwide movement. For more information, you can visit The Human Library Organization at

Stay tuned for dates and times for the 2019 Human Library at Wells College!

The event will take place in the Learning Commons, located on the second floor of Long Library, and is co-hosted by the Library and the Office of Campus Life for Diversity and Inclusion.

Our "books" will be members of the Wells College community. To see available books, please visit our 2019 Human Library Books page on this guide. This event is open to everyone- students, staff, faculty, alumni, and members of the surrounding communities! All we ask is that you bring an open mind and treat everyone participating with respect.
